In grade school, Marcea's relentless imagination created lots of trouble. Thank God for recess, gym class and girls' sports.

After a quick career in education & coaching, she retired to be a playwright. Armed with a library card and a lot of free time, Marcea drew from childhood experiences and began writing and illustrating for children instead. 

​

She's an active member in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and served as Florida's Assistant Regional Advisor, 2010 - 2012.

Marcea and her husband live upstairs in a 100--year--old Florida farmhouse they've been repairing in order of necessity.
